Challenge #1:
The Icebreaker Challenge: Introduce yourself. Tell us why you're doing the challenge, and what you hope to gain from it.

I'm svgurl. I'm in my 30s, and have been actively part of fandom on and off since 2007, when I created my LJ. The SV part of my username stands for Smallville, which was my original fandom and I was very mono fandom for years.

My profile is up to date and gives a little background history and the fandoms/ships I'm interested in. I'm focused on 9-1-1/Buddie these days, but I still love MCU, Smallville, Gilmore Girls, and past favorites do come up from time to time.

I can be found on various places:

Tumblr: [tumblr.com profile] svgurl410
Discord: svgurl

I mod:
[community profile] comment_bingo: a bingo challenge that promotes commenting on other fanworks using the provided prompts
[community profile] rarefemslashexchange: a rare f/f fandom exchange that runs once a year

This is my 5th year participating in the Snowflake Challenge and I really love the way it gives everyone a chance to interact with people that you normally wouldn't. I am not comfortable with just going to someone's journal and talk to them out of the blue, so it's nice that this gives you a chance to do just that. I am looking forward to doing more of that and meet more people on here as well! :)

I've been going through fandom calendar again, so many stuff that would be fun to do. There's [community profile] traumaticexperiences which I nominated some stuff for but idk if I'll be able to participate if there's enough people for the fandoms I'm in. Then [personal profile] candyheartsex which is more likely to be better since there are more people in it, someone also submitted for the same fandoms I'm in. Last but not least [community profile] pmanniversaryexchange's Limbus anni exhcange which is probably the one I'll have the least trouble with, even with my picky shipping preferences. I'm also realizing it was a good call to make one of my bingo goals no more than 5 exchanges instead of the initial 3 because if I do manage to get these I wouldn't be able to participate in any other later in the year lol. I won't count unmatched ones for this as I don't get anything out of it.

When it comes to non-exchange events, I'm mentally preparing a fic for [community profile] ficwip's Hey Sweetheart event. I also signed up for [community profile] fandom_empire's Monopoly event round. I did an event there earlier in 2025 for the Fortune Wheel round, but didn't really do that well since it wasn't the best time in life due to a lot of irl stuff, so focusing on events over writing for pleasure and specific prompts wasn't enjoyable for me. Hopefully this round will to somewhat well.

I also realized it would probably be good to outline of my alvaluca fic ideas, specifically the omegaverse one since it has multiple chapters and could use some better planning. I guess this is the year where I take my planning of fics a lot more seriously.

This week also apprears to have a lot of updates back to back or really close to each other when it comes to most of my games. COA drops on the next update on Thursday, the same day we get part 2 of Limbus new canto story. We got Christmas uma event yesterday, which is actually fitting as Ortodox Christmas is tomorrow.

My general preferences are here.

DNW: unrequested mundane AU | female characters in fridges | non-con | violent dub-con | graphic violence | gore | graphic sexual violence | cruelty/death to animals | cruelty/death to children | requested character death | unrelieved grimdark | bigotry by the good guys | first or second POV | reader fic | ABO | soulbonds | wildly OOC in a non-cracky way

SMUT DNW: creampies | the word “cunt” | anal | hate each other out of bed | underage | incest

MAYBE: no-harm dubcon (sex pollen or “fertility artifact”) | period typical attitudes | infidelity | power dynamic

Treats are always welcome!

Snowflake Challenge: A mug of coffee or hot chocolate with a snowflake shaped gingerbread cookie perched on the rim sits nestled amidst a softly bunched blanket. A few dried orange slices sit next to it.

Write a love letter to fandom. It might be to fandom in general, to a particular fandom, favourite character, anything at all.

I love the Identity V fandom, at least the creative side of it. I've seen many amazing writers and artist make some of the most beautiful art and fic, and it all really came from the silly doll dress up game. The setting is perfect for making aus, the manor au, making an essence setting au, you name it. Even modern aus can be fun. You can do so much with the characters and the settings the game gives you, including a fair amount of freedom when writing for the characters and ships. Weather you follow the canon or not, there is something for everyone.

I've loved all the fics I've read for my favourite ships. There are some amazing writers out there. I focus mostly on this since that's what I'm familiar with the most, and man, I've had so much fun writing for these guys in the past 3 years. Hell, the day I'm posting and writing this is the day I posted my first ever IDV fic back in 2023. I'm still here, still kicking and having fun, even with everything going on. I do really love these little guys enough to write them this much.

I was able to finish my antodrew fic for tomorrow, so that was a nice achievement of the day. It is rather short but I'm happy with how it turned out considering it's mostly for building up what's to come.

I'm not also thinking of which one to work on next. I'm thinking of the gregclair idea I mentioned here, as a Limbus fic should be next. But I'm also thinking of a dmnoir fic for one of the bingos, including a Lifeless Stars chapter. I haven't posted anything in that fic for almost a year (at the end of the month it will be a full year). I need to also work on 'Let me down slowly' as I'm midway through the chapter.

I spent some time this afternoon writing summaries of chapters for a longer fic that has been on my mind for a while. It's a haseli fic, it would have a total of 11 chapters if nothing changes from what I wrote down. I haven't done many longer fics and this one has a potential of being nice length while not as long as Lifeless Stars. I think it could work out if I actually write it down for once.

I also tired out AppFlowy. It's Notion but open source. They have a lot of similarities, and the advantage of being able to use it on Linux (which doesn't seem to be the case for Notion on PC. I haven't seen it there at all, though there probably is a workaround). I've never used these since they're promoted as the "productivity apps to get you to work more instead of doing other things like fun!" but I do need a way to track some of my stuff. This works on both my PC and phone so I can edit it if something needs a change. Will mostly use it for writing reasons, like ideas on the go and things like chapter plans.

I'm also realizing I'm at times not sure how to title my journals. I can leave them with no subject, but that's kinda boring. Right now I used a random emoji. Maybe I could use those when I'm struggling to title things?
